Italy {Part Two}

26th Sep ' 17

Our first day in Italy was a full one! We had a lovely breakfast and then headed up to the old part of the city for an entire day of shooting. Castellabate reminded me of a fairy tale… so incredibly beautiful and so hauntingly old. This town was founded in 1123. No big deal. I like to think my studio is old because it’s from 1879. Europe is a whole other level of vintage.

First things first, of course, and that meant a little stop for coffee as the cutest outdoor cafe. In Italy all the coffees are small, espressos. It felt like quite a change from my giant cold press life back in Minnesota.

{Little baby coffee that I had about three of 😉 and then darling Anna, my Polish bestie!}

{I loved this walled shrine. What a beautiful, Holy reminder.}

One of the biggest perks of this entire experience was the opportunity to have some professional photos taken of me. I think it’s challenging sometimes for photographers to get in front of the lens, but we need to. I felt so beautiful this day despite feeling homesick and a little anxious. I love this photo– it’s a reminder that I can be a risk taker and that God is keeping me in His perfect peace.

After coffee we broke into small groups for shoot outs. There were two sets of wedding models, an English couple and an Italian couple. We were given free reign over a gorgeous villa courtyard {Palazzo Perotti–the private home of Baroness Roberta Perotti}, and the surrounding area including the front of a lovely old church. Each team was given a short period of time to capture each couple. It became an incredible way to get to know each other, share favorite settings-tips, and for me– to grow in the arena of posing.

{I loved working on a team with these ladies… we learned so much from one another. I wish I could do shoot outs like this more often, it’s so beneficial and a great way to grow your skills!}

{After our sessions we headed down the hill to check out the little shops and grab a drink. Delicious!}

After our shoots and a cocktail we gathered back inside the villa courtyard for a divine, candlelit dinner. It felt like a fairytale. I just love how LONG dinners are in Italy.
