on solids!

17th Jan ' 19

We recently passed an exciting milestone in our household: Priscilla joined us for dinner.

Around four months I noticed her looking at our food, watching us intently while we eat. I knew the general rule of thumb is six months, but I asked our GP if we could begin earlier. He gave us the go ahead at her last checkup and said to start around New Year’s!

Seth did sneak her some pizza sauce and whipped cream beforehand, and both went well so I knew we’d be just fine.

I know lots of people like to do just purees or just chunks of food aka “baby led weaning.” I’ve been enjoying a mixture of both.

When we announced our pregnancy, my sweet cousin and his wife sent us a baby food cook book. I was so excited to break out the bin of food stuff I had in P’s closet to get this all start. The little spoons, bowls, and cups are beyond cute.

So far her favorites seem to be pea puree, greek yogurt, oranges, apples, and yes— pizza sauce.

When I was a nanny, making plates for my little people was one of the best parts of my job, and I truly enjoy feeding P as well. Her little clip on high-chair is perfect for our condo island and I love seeing her experience and enjoy these “firsts.”

{when dinnertime is “over” lol!}
