We just returned home from an adventure up on the north shore! We planned this trip pretty quickly, finding the cutest little Lutsen cabins on VRBO— Kah-Nee-Tah Cottages! I’ve always wanted to stay in an older, authentic North Woods cabin— and we found it. I cannot talk up the charm enough, it was positively darling. I love that Kah-Nee-Tah means “Gift from God” 🙂
We arrived a little later than we’d hoped, there was a crazy storm on the way out of Minneapolis that included several pile ups, and we found out later, some crazy person shooting at another driver. Once we got P we settled, Seth made a fire, and we had pizza before heading to bed. P didn’t sleep great and was up more than usual, but morning did come and it was beautiful.
I’m always so glad when I pack my tripod and remote… and this is why. It is 100% worth the hassle. I will cherish this photo forever. I’m so glad that P will have pictures of her family on her first North Shore trip. I also need to hand over the camera to Seth more. I don’t always want to be the one taking photos.
Saturday morning we ventured up to little downtown Grand Marais. We stopped in at the Java Moose coffee shop where Seth inhaled this cookie so quickly that I’m surprised I got a photo of it 😉 Priscilla charmed a few of the older patrons who told us we should buy her ice cream. We then headed to a favorite spot we discovered last year, Castle Danger Brewery.
P slept through most of our time there {hooray!} so we were able to enjoy a game of Scrabble, which of course, Seth won.
Sunday we had hopes to hike a bit, but it was just too chilly for Priscilla. We instead drove around a bit and got some fun drone footage and photos of the lighthouse at Grand Marais. Seth kindly treated me to a massage at the Lutsen resort in the afternoon, which was fantastic! Leah recommended them, and I’m so glad I went. Afterwards we decided to check out this winery-cidery. They had the best cheese plate!
We then headed back to the cabin to get ready for dinner and relax. I love staying at rentals so that we can cook our own meals and have P stay in her routine {as much as it can be on a trip}. We played DVDs on my laptop and sat in front of the beautiful fire while P slept.
Thank you beautiful North Shore for a wonderful weekend getaway!
