Priscilla at Ten Months

10th Jun ' 19

We’ve entered double digits and I feel equal parts happy and nostalgic. Summer is in full swing and Priscilla is loving all the outdoor fun we have. Each time I lather her down with sunscreen I imagine how many more summers I’ll be doing that seemingly annoying, repetitive chore. Ah, the routines of motherhood!

She is still our delightful, fun, silly, and now talkative girl!

She detests | She has started yelling at the top of her lungs when were aren’t paying her attention. I think she prefers to have us totally captivated 😉

{Priscilla’s onesie is from Swanky Shank on Etsy & dolly sewn by God mama Courtney}

What’s new | Priscilla has more words this month. In addition to “da-da” and “duck,” she’s now saying “dog,” “ma-ma/mom,” and has said “uh oh” a few times. She most consistently says “da-da.” Clapping is also new. She will clap if you ask her to, and smiles the biggest grin. It’s quite adorable. “Mama/mom” seems to mean me, help, pay attention, and give me that. We call nursing “nanis” and she sometimes says “na-nas,” but I’m not sure if there’s a connection yet.

We traveled to New York right over the week she turned ten months. She was a great traveler and loved meeting new people, exploring, and sleeping in travel cribs. I’m so relieved she slept well while we were away from home!

She’s so close to one that I can taste it. I know it will be here before I know it. I’ve started planning her birthday party, and her first birthday shoot with my friend Mara. It all feels like a blur! I can’t believe I was at the tale end of my pregnancy a year ago.

I’d love to see you over on Instagram, follow along with my daily photos here:

Sharing my heart on moving from the city on the blog this morning. ⁣
⁣
“Much of my identity has been wrapped up in being a city dwelling lady and mama. I take quite a bit (maybe too much) pride in not being “basic,” as if enjoying things many others do is a sin. It’s not. I don’t believe I’ll ever be cookie cutter, but I’m finding myself settling in and loving non city life quite a bit. It doesn’t hurt, this magical house. I’ve longed for and wanted to live in an old home for my entire adult life. I love Victorians. This particular house has so many unique, interesting, lovely features that it would be impossible not to adore it [...]” ⁣

e l e v e n MONTHS | I still can scarcely believe it. Wasn’t she just born six, four, two months ago?!? The mama time warp is real and it feels too much like that scene in Interstellar when part of the crew has been gone minutes but that one man waited years 👀 Priscilla is 100 percent of whatever: loves to eat, nurses still 🙌🏽, big into clapping, learned how to wave, likes to take her bows out and then tries to put them back in, adores when da-da comes come, and is my little intense co-worker. I’m so in love. 🐳

right on the cusp of crawling and full of wonder for the living room curtains 👧🏻

I’d be lying if I said the bathtubs with window light didn’t sell me on this house 💁🏽‍♀️👏🏽 making all my bath session dreams come true!
