Cilla saurus turns one!

7th Aug ' 19

{Photos by Kimi Coopet of Oh Hello! Photo}

It happened, our little girl turned ONE. I can hardly believe it. How can a year go by so quickly and so slowly at the same time? Mothering her is the best and more favorite thing I have ever done in my life. I adore our days together. I say that often, it bears repeating. Planning her party was so much fun. I’m very grateful to my friend Kimi for taking photos.

Cilla was thrilled to see Grandpa Greg pull up for her party. He arrived a little early so we had time to do something fun: mark her height on a board my stepdad gave us for Christmas. She has been in the 90th then 50th % for height, I’m excited to see how she grows:

We spent most of the week beforehand preparing so day of wasn’t too stressful. My amazing neighbor Grace graciously (seriously!) watched Priscilla for a few hours on Thursday so I could get a chunk of work done. I am very grateful to Mara’s mom Ann who lent us several party items including tables, drink dispensers, photo stands, and a giant framed chalk board. The best!

I love this family portrait of Seth and I. We always end up in chucks, it’s our signature. I remember us wearing those same shoes to our birth class. We do have a pair for Cilla, too, but this day she was barefoot 🙂

I found and designed her invitation on Minted. They get expensive so we only ordered a few for grandparents and god parents. That vintage romper was purchased a long time ago, when I was still pregnant.

We kept the menu simple: bbq ribs and chicken, potato salad, veggie cups, and bread with dip. I ordered cupcakes from a local bakery and they were delicious.

Cilla loved her party. It was great to see so many people. I always feel like I don’t get enough time to visit with each guest. We are just grateful to all who came!
