I think I must have been feeling ambitious this summer because I signed Priscilla and I up for some weekly fun activities. Two are new and one is a group we did last year and loved.
ECFE | This stands for ‘early childhood family education,’ and is a parent-child program put on by our community center. We can walk there and one of our neighbor friends works there. They have the most incredible playground with equipment that is age appropriate for Priscilla. So far, Priscilla has really loved our class and it has been helpful and informative to dive into topics like attachment for me. I appreciate the instructors so much!
BSF | Bible Study Fellowship! I did BSF a few years ago in Bloomington, and honestly didn’t really love it. I thought it was kind of dry, and wasn’t sure if the theology fit well with my faith and worldview. However, after having Priscilla I kept hearing amazing things about their nursery and kid’s program. As much as I wish I was disciplined enough to study the Bible on my own, I know I am not and need the structure of a class. Since there’s a class nearby it just made sense. I have been honestly so blown away by the quality and intentionality of the preschool program. Priscilla loves the nursery and we’ve been having fun playing the BSF preschool songs at home. I am hoping they will remind her of her time at BSF.
MOPs | This is our second year doing MOPs, or, Moms of Preschoolers. I love this program and while I was hesitant to sign up last year I’m so glad I did so (with a little push from Leah). When we decided to move I was sad thinking about not sitting at the same table at City Church MOPs. I have to say, though, that we really are excited about this year at a new church. The leaders are very sweet and I think Priscilla is going to love getting to know other kids there.
I’m so excited to be getting out more and love watching Priscilla explore and meet new friends. It’s going to be a good ‘school year.’
