We are loving our first fall in Stillwater.
I’ve spent most of this month preparing for our wedding. It will be here so soon! With the weather getting cooler and the leaves turning, it is officially autumn.
One of our favorite things to do is to walk downtown. One Wednesday morning Cilla was in a grumpy mood so we packed up early after breakfast and headed out. The light was magnificent. I headed to my favorite coffee shop and grabbed a cider. Cilla perked up, and all was well:
I found this pair of vintage overalls at a thrift store and have been waiting patiently for them to fit. They finally do, and just in time for corduroy weather. Cilla got lots of complements on them at ECFE. She’s doing better with separation anxiety which is such a relief. Those bows don’t last though, she loves to take them off:
I was poking around in the basement and found my fabric pumpkins! I forgot all about them. They’re living on top of our piano right now, but Cilla enjoyed playing with them outside.
We enjoyed quite a few playdates, including a photo shoot and hangout with Abby. Abby and I met at MOPs last year, and I am so grateful. I love putting our girls next to each other like this, Cilla’s grumpy face cracks me up. She’s a photographer as well so we were able to do a trade and got some adorable captures.
I’ve been loving our first fall in our new home. We’ve been having fun conversations about what we’d like to do decor wise. I love the green more and more in here I have to say. I can’t believe it has grown on me so much!
We visited the orchard for a grape stomping event. While we didn’t stomp any grapes we did enjoy a hayride (Cilla’s first), kettle corn, hard cider, and the petting zoo with our friends the Larsens.
We’ve had quite a few misty, rainy, cool mornings and I love them. We sometimes don’t get a bath scheduled into our nighttime routine so we do them in the morning instead. Astro always loves to stick nearby:
Cilla got her first haircut! Morlie came out to our house and did the perfect, cutest little trim. She also cut my hair, too. As much as I love going to the salon and having a relaxing, pampering experience with all that we have with the wedding coming up, going out of the house for one more appointment just isn’t an option. As much as I can, I do try and “stay home” as a SAHM. It’s just easier and I prefer it. Anyway, we are grateful to Morlie who came to our house and did an excellent job. Cilla only cried at the end, but that’s my favorite photo of course 😉
We went down to Worthington so Seth could run a 10K and Cilla had a horrible night of sleep. I have no idea what happened but she was up from 11pm-3am. It was exhausting. Never the less, we pushed through. I hoped for sure that Cilla would sleep through her normal wake up time at 6:30am. WRONG! She was up even before that. We made the most out of an exhausting situation and took some sunrise photos in front of Lake Okabena. Cilla chose to catch up on sleep by taking a gigantic morning nap.
While in Worthington, we attended King Turkey Day. This is a fun tradition. We got some lunch from the food trucks, watched the parade, and Cilla got to meet Paycheck— the turkey day mascot. We ran into Seth’s precious second grade teacher who came up to us with “hi, daddy Seth.” Small town dynamics are so charming to me, and what is that?! A rare selfie with Seth! Dare I say. That man is FINE.
I convinced Grace to drive nearly an hour away to see these sunflower fields. Luckily, she was up for it. They were pure magic and Cilla loved touching the petals and seeds. Aren’t these two the cutest!?
Priscilla was my assistant at a newborn session I did for my friend Jania at the studio. Working and having your baby with you at the same time isn’t easy, but thankfully Priscilla was distracted by my studio props. We did snap a few after my clients left. September was the month that I fell in love with bonnets. They’re the perfect early fall accessory.
Good bye September! We can’t wait for October… it is a huge month for our family!
