We have a full blown toddler over here and I’m strangely loving it. I have been dreading this age and stage, but it probably comes as no surprise that I adore my own toddler 😉 Managing one toddler at a time isn’t the same as working in a daycare with a seven child to one adult ratio. Hallelujah! This spunky and sparkly girl is a true joy:
At eighteen months Cilla is walking and nearly running {especially when she wants to get away from me, while I am getting slower as my pregnancy progresses. She has mastered getting all the way up to our third floor, and has learned how to carefully get down stairs, though she’s not totally confident and still loves to be carried.
I took these photos in my new “micro studio,” at our house! I closed up my studio at Calvary and it has been good for me to have a little spot at home to do sessions. I am so over the moon about it. Cilla loves my studio rocking chair, and I have distinct memories of taking photos of her for her three month session in it. Gah, the time is flying!
She has such a little sense of humor, eats like a pro {this winter is quite partial to soups, including veggies, I am so grateful!}, and loves watching for Seth to pull into the driveway. She naps from 1:30-3pm most days, I like having her nap a little later. Once in a blue moon she’ll give me a longer stretch and I’ll be able to get some work done.
She has expressed interest in using the potty so I bit the bullet and ordered her a chair and some underwear. She’s still on the young side, but I figured if she’s up for it we might as well try. We’re going to do the three day method at the beginning of March. Wish us luck!
Cilla is still nursing 1-3 times per day. I’m not sure what’s going on with my supply, but my hope is to continue until she is two. I am hoping for a much easier and less painful start to nursing with baby #2. I am so happy about our nursing journey thus far.
Not a day passes where I’m not overcome with privilege of mothering this girl. I cannot wait to meet her baby brother, but am soaking up these simple mama-and-me winter days.
