Well, I’ve never been pregnant this long and it is surreal. I am certainly more tired, bigger, and worn thin with all of the upsetting events in our world, city, state. I am trying to hold onto joy and some sense of peace, thankfully Cilla is a good distraction. We had an opportunity to go down to George Floyd’s memorial at Cup Foods a week ago, and I’m hoping to write more in depth about that experience. In the midst of all of this, baby boy is still growing. The holy mix of all, the dichotomy, is strange.
{I highly recommend porch rocking chairs, my favorite place to sit these days}
I now visit Roots every week, which is a nice break if I am being honest. I never made it this far with Cilla so the weekly visits are a new experience. We had our home visit with Rebecca and Aly a few weeks ago. We are all ready: Seth set up the birth tub in the nursery {we’re opting to birth on the second floor out of safety}, I’ve got my affirmation cards up that my wonderfully talented friend Morgan made, and my postpartum supply cart is set.
Symptoms | I have had a few good days, but overall I am exhausted and tired. I still have SPD, and thankfully have started seeing a wonderful chiropractor in Stillwater that I love. I hadn’t seen a chiro since Covid broke out, and it has made my life so much better. I still struggle to walk for long distances, but I feel like I can make it through the day.
Mood | All over the damn place.
Weight gain | 29 pounds! I’m actually writing this entry at 39 weeks exactly, and I’ve noticed that my weight has plateaued. I gained about 25-30 pounds with Cilla so I’m right on track. I won’t lie, we’ve been indulging in lots of treats. I’m at the point where I just don’t care anymore, it’s summer, our AC doesn’t work well, I’m gonna eat some ice cream.
Sleep/energy | Here and there. I do take Tylenol PM every night now, just to help me rest. We do tend to go to bed early, and I am always happy when I can sleep past 5:30am. Some days I have great energy, other days I am exhausted.
Food cravings | I can’t stop eating the tuna poke bowls from Lolo. We usually get take out from there once a week. I’ve also been loving sweets. So healthy, so good #not.
What’s new | Aside from our society completely falling apart… okay obviously I’m in a mood with this post, we’ve been doing just fine over here. All of our projects we hoped to accomplish before baby arrives are done.
{38 weeks, on this day I was feeling pretty great}
Alright baby, we are ready for you. You can come any day now.
