39 weeks! I’m writing this at 39 weeks and 3 days, average second time mamas I read recently have their babies at 39w5d. So hopefully my next weekly entry won’t exist and I’ll be sharing baby and birth photos instead. Here’s hoping!
I’ve been rotating about three dresses lately and this is one of them. At least being pregnant during the summer means that all I have to wear is a dress and sandals. I like keeping things simple and easy. My mornings are pretty groggy due to taking Tylenol PM each night. Fun fact: I wore these sandals to the birth center when I had Cilla. I’m thinking they bring good luck.
Compared to weeks 35-37 I am feeling pretty good. I’m big, it’s hard to get around, but I have a good handle on controlling my symptoms. I did end up getting a belt for my SPD, but I’m not sure if I’m wearing it right so I’m waiting until my appointment yesterday to get fitted for it properly.
Seth has been carrying so much of the domestic load and I am grateful. He gets Cilla up each morning and fixes her breakfast. He often puts her to bed or else makes dinner. I am so lucky that he has continued to work from home, and is willing and able to help me. More than ever I am so grateful I married such a good man.
This beautiful cabinet was given to us by my good friend and former co-worker Zoe. We are planning on putting it upstairs in the guest room and then eventually having it in the nursery for kid’s clothing storage. It’s so stunning!
Symptoms | I still get acid reflux like clockwork around 1pm. That’s when I start to usually not feel great, and I use Cilla’s nap time to try and rest. It’s still painful for me to move, walk, and turn over in the bed due to SPD.
Mood | More even keel this week, thank goodness!
Weight gain | I’m not sure since my midwife appointment isn’t until Wednesday.
Sleep/energy | I sure miss my normal, not pregnant energy level. I know it will come back!
Food cravings | I still am loving fruit and sweets. We have been grilling quite a bit and making big salad for dinner which is good. I am trying to eat healthy despite wanting ice cream at every meal.
What’s new | We went downtown again on Saturday. We got to eat at a patio and watched a beautiful march go by across the new bridge. I really love living in Stillwater, and I am happy to see downtown slowly and safely opening up. Aside from that we’ve been laying low, just waiting on baby brother!
