Despite not feeling like our house is anywhere near “done,” I have decided to share a few rooms that are mostly put together. We have lived here for about a year, and I’d say getting everything painted was the hugest change. I love how airy and beautiful things look now that we have gotten rid of the dark green.
When you walk in there’s a small alcove that leads to a small porch.
We sometimes call this room the grandparents bedroom because we have portraits of our grandparents on either night stand.
A few of my favorite details in this room are the hooks in the alcove and this pretty, old mirror I found at an estate sale a long time ago.
My grandpa’s WWII portrait and hat sits in here. The lamp and rifle tray were Seth’s before we met. The bed is full sized, almost identical to the bed at one of my previous apartments. I had purchased this gray and white rose bedding a few years ago and am so glad we have a place to use it since our master bed is king sized.
Finding curtains has been a journey, the ones we chose for Cilla’s room and the nursery are a heavier, linen and more expensive. I was hoping to find something more airy and affordable for this space. I do think we may need to add black out shades for guests who bring their littles/are light sensitive, but I love how the light looks filtered through the lace.
There’s our guest room! We love that we have a space for people to stay when they visit. I am so grateful for our home.
