Langston James is one month old! It feels wild to say that, it seems like he just got here, but at the same time I can see how much he has grown and changed already. Time seems to be flying by at an even faster speed than it did with Cilla. Having these two to mother and look after is keeping me on my toes, but in a good and quite grounding way.
I feel like I keep waiting for LJ to become more difficult, he’s honestly a really easy, very sweet, low-key baby. I cannot sing praises enough. I had a good amount of anxiety and worry thinking about taking care of two and surviving the newborn stage, but without jinxing myself I have to say that in some ways having two is easier. It seems absurd, but it’s how I feel.
We’ve had a great month with him so far, and I am excited to enjoy the rest of the summer with such a sweetie pie. Now that I can walk again {yay!} we’ve been enjoying rides in the stroller and even took our first trip to a park.
Here are a few tidbits about Langston at one month old:
He loves | I have a baby who takes a pacifier! Thank you, Lord. Langston loves his Bibbs soother, and I don’t hate that since I think they’re adorable. He also loves to eat and has been nursing like a champ since day one. We recently started having him nap in his crib and he loves it there, I think because there’s an air conditioning vent right above his head 🙂 Most of all, he adores being outside.
He detests | He doesn’t like to be set down, so I’ve been wearing him a bit and enjoying walks in the stroller. We’re making it work. Langston is also gassy like Cilla was, but I’ve been giving him probiotics and gas medication to help and that seems to make a difference. He is in the stage where he hates getting dressed + diaper changes, but I know that will pass. Truthfully he is such an easy, happy guy.
What’s new | We took LJ on his very first road trip this past weekend. We hadn’t been to down to see Seth’s parents since January and felt like it was time. To our delight Langston did so well in the car that we’re considering doing an RV trip next month. We took Cilla on her first road trip around the same time. He likes his car seat and it helps having his sister in the back seat for entertainment I suppose.
Sleep wise he is a champ, usually up twice in the night between 1-2:30am and then again around 5/5:30am. I am hoping to consolidate that to one time, but cannot complain. He is still up in his bassinet with us, but I am thinking of having him try a night or two in his crib within the next month.
He also tried his first bottle! I have been loving my Spectra pump and the Hakka which has made saving milk so, so easy. He seemed to take to it quite easily, which is such a relief!
Just for fun, here is Priscilla’s one month update from the archives. We cannot get over how similar they look.
We love LJ so much, and I am so glad he is here! I don’t miss being pregnant at all.
