We survived the newborn phase! I hope I always look back on those early months with fondness. LJ has been such an easy baby thus far. He is so very happy, smiles often, and is starting to show more and more of his easy going, curious personality.
This month he has truly learned to love tummy time and can push himself up pretty well. I keep waiting for him to roll from back to belly, he seems so close but that giant head does get in the way.
LJ is a very distracted nurser and I often have to find a quiet space to take him to eat. He loves to look around for Cilla when she comes into a room and is enamored with shadows and light.
Each day I feel more used to life with two littles. I still have my moments where I am over my head, but day by day it keeps getting better {or maybe I am just used to the chaos now?}.
LJ was sleeping well, but hasn’t been lately and so I am tired! Fingers crossed he gets back to sleeping better, longer stretches soon. Thankfully his daytime sleep has consolidated and he seems to be past taking those pesky 45 minute cat naps. I felt like we were in that stage forever with Cilla. I did add some black out shades to his room and I wonder if that has helped. Both kids go to bed around 7pm so Seth and I can usually have dinner the two of us and relax a bit before falling into bed.
Here is what life is like with LJ at three months:
He loves | Tummy time! I am a little surprised by this, but he really enjoys hanging out on his belly. Langston loves to look at Cilla’s toy animals and his black and white cards from Lovevery.
He detests | Being put down when he doesn’t want to.
What’s new | LJ is taking a bottle like a champ which means I’ve been able to sneak away for evening MOPs and a few hours here and there. After having a later bedtime for the early part of his life, he’s now going to sleep around 7pm just like his big sister.
He went on his first trip up north to Bayfield, Wisconsin and loved being outdoors. We also visited Worthington for the second time. He’s grown out of his travel bassinet and now sleeps in a regular travel crib, such a big boy!
