How?! That is what I ask myself when I realize that by Christmas Langston will be 1/2 a year old. What on earth!? I feel like Cilla’s first six months of life dragged on, but for some reason, Langston’s have truly flown by. I love this happy, easy going boy so very much. He is such a fun person to have around because he is often smiling, very curious, and has the best disposition.
This month was a big one for Langston. He celebrated his first Thanksgiving, is rolling like a champ, and sleeping about 11 hours each night. I am so glad all that sleep coaching happened. We need our rest in this house!
Here is what life is like with LJ at five months:
He loves | Avocados, steak, and peas. I cannot wait to have him try more foods. He’s wild about dinnertime. He still takes one bottle of breastmilk each night around 5pm and is nursing as well. Langston has started “talking” more and is starting to make a variety of noises. He adores Cilla and cannot take his eyes off her if she’s anywhere in earshot.
He detests | Lingering in his room when his nap is over. When LJ wakes up, he cannot wait to get out of his sleep sack, dark room, and go play!
What’s new | LJ went shopping for the first time. I took him to the Galleria will Cilla and he was so enamored by the pretty decor that he didn’t take a nap the entire time we were there.
LJ is wearing 3-6 month clothing, but closing in on that. I cannot believe how fast he is growing. He is our lean guy, and our doctor told us that he has a fast metabolism. He’s over 17 pounds and closing in on doubling his birth weight. He is still SUCH a distracted nurser. I’ve taken to calling him “gotta known Lo,” because he will pop off anytime there’s just the slightest noise. I’d love to make it to two with him like I did Cilla, but I suspect he’ll wean faster.
I still cannot believe his pretty gray-blue eyes. He still has them! I keep waiting for them to change, but they’ve stayed the same. He’s starting to lose his hair and I expect it will be the same brown that Cilla’s is.
Langston James, you are such a gift to our family. Being your mama is a dream come true! I’m so excited to see what your six month of life brings.
