Our golden girl turned three on August third! We’ve been anticipating and looking forward to her golden birthday for a while now and it’s exciting that it’s already here. We’re having a small party on Sunday, but I wanted to do something special for her on her actual birthday. It’s safe to say she had a good one:
We woke up early and had breakfast for cake, then played on the porch with balloons, and then Cilla went and had an adventure with grandma. It’s so wild to think that three years ago I became a mother– always my life’s dream and desire.
Two has been so much fun with this girl. I feel like Cilla truly went from being a baby to a kid. She’s curious, joyful, still a bit shy, but very silly. She loves dancing, playing with her brother (this is new), and is looking forward to starting preschool this fall.
I go back and forth about wanting to keep her home and pursuing homeschooling (we did a Morning Basket this spring and summer), but I think a few mornings a week away from us will be good. I know I will need a little help since this next baby is due in September. We will see after that, though.
This year Priscilla gained a roommate, mostly mastered potty training, and has loved attending swimming and soccer lessons this summer. This spring we planted a garden together and she is so great at watering her plants. Last month we hatched butterflies and released them!
I was feeling badly that Cilla has her golden birthday so early in life, but recognized that she probably doesn’t care. It was so sweet to see her come down the stairs and worth the 6am alarm wake up for me to get everything ready. She was smitten, and that’s all that matters:
I love that she can show “three” with her fingers and she’s been telling everyone that Langston is one as well. I adore taking these yearly photos of her with this letter board. It is so fun to look back on years one and two.

Time continues to march one and daily I am so grateful that I get to love and take care of this girl every single day. I love her so much:
