Our baby boy turned ONE last month, and the reality that he is now a toddler is still sinking in, finding itself home in my mind and heart. I’ve had a little baby for such a long time it seems, that our family has abruptly entered a new chapter of: one, two, and four. I am a mother to toddlers, no longer a baby, but forever my babies they shall be as popular sentiment goes. Theodore’s first months seemed to stretch on forever, but now we’re here on the far other side of six months and he is nearly walking, saying “mama” and “dada,” and showing us his emerging personality. I love him!
At one, Theodore is: passionate, observant, comical, and friendly.
He waves to everyone. He loves antagonizing Langston. He adores Priscilla. A while back, I moved LJ in with him and they now have a brother’s room. Teddy seems to enjoy having a roommate, and I am hopeful that they are creating a lifetime of memories. I’ve always envisioned that as a boys’ space so it makes me smile to think about it.
For Teddy’s birthday I wanted to do a teddy bear theme since that is his nickname. It was an easy, low key celebration with a handful of friends and family. I have truly enjoyed planning and implementing elaborate parties in the past, but this simple, autumnal take felt just right. Like she usually does, Kimi came and took photos of our baby turning one. These are so dear to me.
